The BIG RIDE – 2022
June 25-26, 2022Join us on the Rails to Trails
The 2022 BIG RIDE will travel the beautiful and scenic Rails to Trails bike path along the lakes, rivers, and coastline between Halifax and the South Shore.
The trails are built on converted railway tracks, are well-maintained, level, and suitable for cyclists of all experience levels.
Cycle ~200km in two days along the beautiful Rails to Trails path system from the Crown Drive Park, Halifax to Oak Island Resort (36 Treasure Drive, Western Shore).
Please note: As always, all GIVETOLIVE events will be designed with safety in mind & adhere to Public Health rules of the day. All participants must be up-to-date with their COVID-19 vaccinations, as required by the Nova Scotia Government on event weekend. Please be prepared to present your proof of vaccinations and ID when you arrive at the event check-in on event weekend. Visit novascotia.ca for details.
Registration fee
$199 (includes dinner & breakfast at Oak Island Resort, on-the-trail snacks, branded t-shirt & medal).
Fundraising
The money raised from The BIG RIDE supports the Dalhousie Medical Research Foundation and will help to fund local cancer research trainees being trained at the Beatrice Hunter Cancer Research Institute. These trainees care deeply about cancer research and will become the health problem-solvers of tomorrow.
Minimum fundraising of $1,500 for each rider.
Accommodations
