That's a wrap for 2021

The BIG RIDE 2021 Wrap-up

Thank you to our participants & volunteers!

Congratulations to all of our cyclists, runners, and volunteers for a successful BIG RIDE 2021!

This year The BIG RIDE took place on June 26 & 27, 2021 along the scenic Rails to Trails bike path between Halifax and the South Shore in Nova Scotia.

Thank you to all participants for another great event and successful fundraising!

The 2021 BIG RIDE will travel the beautiful and scenic Rails to Trails bike path along the lakes, rivers, and coastline between Halifax and the South Shore. The trails are built on converted railway tracks, are well-maintained, level, and suitable for cyclists of all experience levels.

Cycle ~200km in two days along the beautiful Rails to Trails path system from Ashburn Golf Club-Old Course (3250 Joseph Howe Drive, Halifax, NS) to Oak Island Resort (36 Treasure Drive, Western Shore).

Funds to support the Dalhousie Medical Research Foundation to advance cancer research through the Beatrice Hunter Cancer Research Institute at Dalhousie University

Minimum fundraising of $1,500 for each rider

Registration fee is $149 (includes dinner & breakfast at Oak Island Resort, on-the-trail snacks, branded water bottle & t-shirt).

Given the complexity of family and friend bubbles, riders will need to book and pay for their own rooms. We have a block of 50 standard rooms at Oak Island Resort. To access the block and rate of $160/room quote GIVETOLIVE and call 1-800-565-5075 by May 1, 2021.

Please note: As always, all GIVETOLIVE events will be designed with safety in mind & adhere to Public Health rules of the day.

In 2019, we rode 500km in five days along Québec’s breathtaking Gaspé Peninsula. We are so proud of our 44 BIG RIDErs who raised more than $176,000 for cancer research! Check out some photos from our awesome trip! In 2021, we’re ready to make some more memories with you!
