Ontario based Glacier Bikes recently committed to donating 25% of its sales proceeds in 2010 on all frames to the war on cancer. Glacier Bikes, which specializes in manufacturing high-end, quality carbon road, mountain, and time trial bikes, will be foregoing a large part of its marketing budget to ensure that 25% of proceeds can be donated to GIVETOLIVE. Co-owners John Witzing and Peter Sejrup decided that they wanted their company to do more than just provide beautiful bikes. We are creating a special company and we knew that our dollars could be spent on marketing or we could spend it on trying to make a difference in the world and inspire others to do the same, said Mr. Witzing. Added Mr. Sejrup, We may not do as well without a marketing budget, but we know it’s the right thing to do. If people spread the word enough, we think it’s something we can do next year as well. Regardless of what happens, we both felt making a difference was what really mattered.
