Itinerary
October 1st: Fund-raising Deadline. All funds must be in by this day. If we have not received your $5k by that date, you will risk losing your spot.
Sunday, October 10: Orientation day. Meet the riders you’ll be fighting cancer with. You must be here for this meeting as will be having a safety meeting as well. Plan to arrive at the departure hotel no later than 2pm Sunday. We will let you know where that hotel is and we will cover the cost for this night and provide a pizza dinner.
Monday, October 11: Departure from Vancouver bright and early. This is a powerful day. There is no feeling like riding out of town as a pack of 60 cyclists in one mass effort to help those living with and beyond cancer.
Tuesday, October 12 – 22: Long days, lots of laughs, some frustration, sore joints and muscles, a few hours in cars, lots in the saddle, emotion you can’t pay for, and memories you just won’t forget. These are the days we ride in the relay format. You will have a different “shift” each day and sometimes you will even get the peaceful night ride… one of the most serene feelings you will ever experience in your life.
Friday: October 22: Arrival in Austin, Texas. Just a phenomenal experience that you will remember for life. We started as a group and we will arrive as a group. Invite your family and friends to fly to the finish line and join the celebration at the finish line.
Saturday: October 23: Participate in the LiveStrong Challenge activities (5k walk/run, health expo, dinner at the convention centre, and hearing Lance speak).
Sunday: October 24: Participate in the LiveStrong Challenge Ride…. choose 10, 40, 60 or 90 miles and see if you can catch Lance at the front. 3,000 riders from all over the world participate in this day long event and it truly is something everyone should experience once in their lives.
Monday: October 25: Suggested departure date, although each year there are people that stay to enjoy the beautiful city of Austin at a beautiful time of year. As part of your 5k, we will fly you home (within North America).
